Ahmedabad gets second ISKCON Mandir

The city of Ahmedabad has now its second ISKCON temple. It is located at Bhadaj near Science City.
Pranpratishtha of Shri Radha Krishna at Hare Krishna Mandir will take place on April 21 by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. Pranpratishtha Mahotsav kicked of on Saturday
The intricately carved deities have been brought from Jaipur. During the day, elaborate vedic procedures and rituals as stipulated in the ‘Agama Shastra’ will be followed for the installation.
Lord Krishna will inspire different kinds of ‘upachara’. Colorful cultural programmes like folk and classical dance presentations on Krishna-Lila accompanied by Bhajan sandhya will beautify the evenings further.
Inauguration of Asia’s largest kitchen will coincide with the opening of this Mandir. This kitchen is run by Akshay Patra Foundation. It supplies to mid-day meals to around 1,30,000 students in 523 schools in Ahmedabad district. It will be able to serve 2,00,000 students by mid-2016.
Samskar Kendra, temple pond, Gaushala, youth training centre and children activities are other highlights of new Mandir.
