Surat-Amreli flight service after repair of Amreli airstrip

Surat headquartered Diamond aeronautics is planning to start daily flight connecting Surat and Amreli. Diamond at present connects Surat to Bhavnagar and Rajkot with its daily flights. After initial success Diamond has increased the number of flights. Diamond uses 9-seater planes to operate its service. There was a demand to operate flights connecting Surat and Amreli from prominent people in Amreli. However the airport runway at Amreli is not suitable to operate flights. In this regard a representation was made before state Civil Aviation Minister Saurabh Patel. In response Patel has promised repair of Amreli air strip so that it can be made functional. Once the airport is in working condition, Diamond will start Surat-Amreli flights.
