Gujaratwide heavy rains, rivers get richer, some dams full

Due to heavy rains in Rajasthan, the level of water at Dantiwada and Sipu dams in north Gujarat is continuously on rise.

Isrol-Rajli deep near Modasa is submerged in water following which road transportation has been on halt.

As many as 200 people in Dahegam town near Gandhinagar were shifted to safer places due to water logging inside the houses.

Some villages in Dhanera belt in north Gujarat are out of reach due to flood-like situation after heavy rain in Rajasthan.

In south Gujarat, a family drowning in river with their car was rescued. One person is missing in this incident.

Due to heavy rain in upstream areas, Kim river in south Gujarat crossed its danger level. Over two dozen villages were alerted following this development.

Heavy rain in Kutch district caused water logging in otherwise dry town Rapar.

Parts of Saurashtra including Amreli, Veraval, Porbandar, Rajkot experienced heavy rains. Rajkot’s Aaji-1 dam was overflowing. Lately Nyari-2 dam was also overflowing. Similarly Survo dam is overflowing again. Anandpur dam is overflowing too. Ozat vier overflow is overflowing.

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel had to land at Rajkot instead of Morbi due to poor weather to attend a programme. Water logging was seen around the venue of Chief Minister’s programme.

Due to water logging, Jodhpur-Gandhidham train was halted in Banaskantha district of north Gujarat.

In many parts of Gujarat, private schools were declared closed today due to continuous rain.

In central Gujarat, rivers like Orsang and Ashwin were seen flowing with full of water.

Level of water at Narmada dam was at 119.75 due to continuous inflow from upstream areas.
