UGVCL employees working in water to restore power in flood-hit areas

Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited(UGVCL) has started efforts on war foot basis to restore power in flood-hit areas of north Gujarat, particularly in Vav-Suigam taluka which is worst hit by flood.
In entire Banaskantha district, power supply has been restored in 1050 villages. UGVCL employees are working here even amid water.
According to Vav taluka deputy engineer GA Sheth the damage in power transmission lines in Vav and Suigam taluka has been severe. Survey has been completed, and repair work is going on. 6 teams are working to restore power in 78 villages of Vav and 42 villages of Suigam taluka. Each tem has 10 persons and UGVCL employees – thus over 110 persons.
Power is already restored in major villages of this area such as Vav, Tirthgam, Chadarva, Khimnavas. Power supply to all villages will be restored in next two days.
