DUSU poll result reflection of young India: Nadda

New Delhi
Buoyed by its student front ABVP’s victory in Delhi University students union elections, BJP today claimed the win “is a reflection of the views of young India and would yield good results in Bihar assembly polls.
Citing the results, senior BJP leader and Union Minister J P Nadda attacked Aam Aadmi Party and Congress saying “it clearly shows that the country’s youth has rejected the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party’s negative” politics and Congress party’s “anti-development” agenda.
Asked whether ABVP results would have any bearing on Bihar elections, Nadda told reporters here that the mood of country’s youth reflects that Bihar polls will yield “good results”.
“The results also clearly show that the country’s youth have rejected false, negativism and confrontationist politics of Arvind Kejriwal. It is very clearly seen the way Kejriwal government was trying to stall the country’s development by obstructing merely for the sake of it and stall development and progress of the country.
“It is a reflection of the views of the young India which has put its stamp on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadmap of taking the country towards progress and take India forward on the international map as an economically strong nation,” Nadda said.
Asked about DUSU polls having any bearing on Bihar polls and if it would benefit BJP, Nadda said “people of Bihar want development and is keen to follow on the path of Narendra Modi government which is committed to development and there will yield good results.”
Attacking Congress, Nadda said it is yet to emerge from its defeat in Lok Sabha elections last year and thus its reactions are “anti-development, full of negativism and obstructionist and its statements are full of desperation, reactionary and not well thought”.
He said “Congress party is trying to mislead the country and we will apprise the people of the truth.”
Asked if caste equations and the entry of Asauddin Owaisi’s AIMIM will make any difference in Bihar polls, Nadda said “development is our issue in Bihar polls and youth of Bihar wants development and will not decide on such issues.”
Nadda hit out at Congress on land acquisition issue, allleging it has no right to talk about farmers’ interests as it is the same party which had bartered and mortgaged the interests of farmers at WTO and other platforms.
“They have no right to speak in favour of farmers. They took decisions while keeping aside the interests of India’s farmers at all platforms. As far as Modi government is concerned, Narendra Modi has moved forward while keeping development and common man in mind.
BJP’s student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today swept Delhi University Students’ Union polls, retaining all four top posts for the second consecutive year defeating Congress-backed NSUI while AAP’s CYSS finished third in the vote count in its debut.
