Main accused in Chapaldhara cow head case arrested

Main accused of Chapaldhara communal tension has been arrested by police. He has been sent to two days remand by a local court.
Last Sunday, butchered cow’s head was found from Kaveri river which was the venue for Ganesh murti visarjan.
Angry with this, a mob of around 3,000 local Hindus started stone pelting at local mosque and houses of Muslim families. Police had to lob tear gas shells to control the crowd on rampage. 17 Hindu youths were arrested for rioting who were later released on bail by local court.
On Monday evening, Local Crime Branch police inspector CJ Goswami and his team had arrested local butchers Mohammad Hassan Kanmi, Saleh Ibrahim Kanm and Mohammad Arif Yusuf Kanmi and got remands from court.
During the remands it was revealed that one Abdul Ibrahim Kanmi was main accused in this incident. Police has arrested Abdul Ibrahim Kanmi and produced in court. He has been sent on two days remand. In other development, three accused arrested earlier failed to get bail and were sent to judicial custody.
