ABG Shipyard Surat delivers third pollution control vessel to ICG

ABG shipyard on Wednesday gave delivery of third pollution control vessel manufactured here in Surat to Indian Coast Guard. The vessel has been named ‘CGS Samudra Pavak 203’. Rs 120 crore vessel is part of Rs 360 crore order given to ABG shipyard in year 2005 for manufacturing of 3 pollution control vessels. ABG had purchased designs of these vessels from Rolls-Royce. Highlights of this vessel: Diesel electric system based vessel – 4500 tonne – 94 MRS – can recover 500 tonne oil in one round – 21 knot speed – twin engine advance helicopter can land and take off from this vessel – 100 crew member can stay on it – 2 modern interceptor boats aboard for rescue.
