Another abandoned Pakistani boat found in Creek area, 5th in last 3 months

Bhuj

The Border Security Force (BSF) has found yet another abandoned Pakistani boat in the Creek area of the Arabian sea near Koteshwar in Kutch district today.

This is fifth such recovery in almost three months.

BSF sources said that the boat was noticed in the creek area by a patrol team and has been brought for further investigation. ‘Prima facie it seems to be a fishing boat and there was no suspicious object in it,’ they said.

Earlier two such boats, one with a gun used for hunting, were found in the same area in the second half of last month and one such boat was found in Sir Creek area on January 16 while another abandoned Pakistani boat was seized near Haraminala in December last year.

‘The recovery of boats in the area rich in sea foods was not very unusual as the Pakistani fishermen at times stealthily enter the marshy area to catch prawns and smelling any BSF patrol boat in the vicinity they flee leaving the boat behind. But finding such boats in back to back manner is certainly a matter of concern and was being looked in to,’ the sources said.

The terror elements can also use such boats for their nefarious designs.
