Ahmedabad
An 18-hole adventure golf has started operations for the first time in Gujarat today at Gulmohar Greens Golf & Country Club as a miniature version of an actual course, it is spread over 35000 Square feet area.
For those still uninitiated into the world of golf this will play a role of practice zone before trying the larger course. Gulmohar Greens club has kept the target audience flexible, open to all across every age group. The club has been working consistently for over a year now to grow the fan base of the sport.
“The adventure course was planned as a part of our drive to popularize golf. While we assessed that there were many interested individuals willing to start playing golf, we thought aiming and putting for beginners, which include kids and adults, will encourage them to practice and ease imperfections before taking on the pressure of playing on an actual course. It will be a fun activity and we hope to grow our base of golf connoisseurs from Gujarat in the process and penetrate deeper into the national level,” said Mr. Alpesh Parikh, Managing Director, Gulmohar Greens Golf & Country Club.
The adventure course will be open from 6.30 AM to 11.30 AM and between 4 PM to 9 PM every day. Incidentally, there are 12 odd golf courses in Gujarat and have only 250 odd playing members.
“Golfing is still considered a niche sporting activity, and Gulmohar Greens Golf & Country Club has already designed a one-of-a-kind year-long golfing calendar to popularize the sport taking it beyond seasons and gender. The “Go Golf” golfing annual event calendar announced by Gulmohar Greens for 2015-16 is already underway and has received a whopping response” added Alpesh Parikh.
