Wanted Hizbul Mujahideen militant arrested

A wanted Hizbul Mujahideen militant was today arrested by army during an anti-militancy operation in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, an official said.
Tariq Pandit, a close associate of tech-savvy Hizbul Mjujahideen commander Burhan Wani, was apprehended during checking of vehicles on the outskirts of Pulwama town, the official said.
“The militant was under surveillance for some time now and he was apprehended at a mobile naka set up by the army in Pulwama,” the official said.
Pandit was one of the 11 militants, led by Burhan, who had posted photographs brandishing assault rifles on social networking sites like Facebook last year.
