Gandhinagar: Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma today warned the main accused of Talati recruitment scam Kalyansinh Champavat to take back his ‘baseless’ allegation against him within ten days or else face legal action and a suit of defamation.
In a statement issued by the minister against whom Champavat, who had come out of bail in the scam related case, had recently leveled allegations of being involved in the scam, termed it as baseless and an attempt to hide Champavats own wrong deeds.
Warning Champavat of a defamation suit and other legal actions if he did not take back his allegations in 10 days, he said that his allegation were far from truth, incorrect and baseless and were levelled by him on someone’s suggestion with an intention to malign his social and political image.
‘My 45 years public life has been spotless and the people won’t buy Champavat’s falsehood,’ the minister said adding that the matter was under legal scrutiny now and he never stood in its way.
Champavat in a press conference had made sensational allegations against Mr Chudasma the then Panchayat law minister and the then revenue minister and current chief minister Anandiben Patel and some other ministers and officials in connection with the large scale irregularity in the February 2014 talati recruitment exam.
He has also sent a memorandum to the governor. Champavat has also claimed to have documents containing proof of scams during the erstwhile Modi government of the state.
