Coffee table book on 10 cancer survivors released in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Inspirational author, columnist and editor of Chicken Soup series, Ms Raksha Bharadia’s coffee table book 10/10 (10 on 10), a collection of the ‘touching and inspiring’ narratives of 10 cancer winners from ordinary background, was released here today.

Addressing a press conference here on the occasion in the presence of all the 10 survivors, Ms Bharadia said that she chose to write about cancer survivors as she thought that the story would inspire some to fight the dreaded disease and at the same time it would refrain others from cancer causing habits like tobacco.
‘The story of the 10 survivors including three women from ordinary background, who we call winners, is an immersive collection,’ She said.

Appealing the women folk to not to suppress their health problems, She said that they were the linchpins of the families. If their health faces serious consequences owing to hiding their illnesses, it might put the whole family in greater distress at a later stage.

The book is a story about 10 survivors of whom 2 to 3 had a relapse of the disease but they won it again.

The book release was organized by Ahmedabad Cancer Foundation on the occasion of World Head and Neck Cancer Day today at the Ahmedabad Management Association.
