A big ship stuck at Dandi coast to stay here at least till Diwali

Valsad: A 34,800 tonne ship ‘Infinity’ that has floated to Dandi coast in Valsad taluka of South Gujarat will stay here till Diwali. It will be taken away from here during high tide post Diwali.
The ship which is stuck in court case was originally destined to reach Alang ship breaking yard in Bhavnagar district. Due to court order it couldn’t be dismantled at Alang. Due to breakup in its anchor it floated to Dandi sea shore. It is stuck here in five ft sand.
Due to court order, 10 crue members are unable to leave the ship. They are being supplied vegetables, water and other needed stuff. As they are located at 70 ft height, they were supplied water through submersible pump. An emergency generator has been installed for power supply for crew members.
The ship was built in 1985 in Liberia. It was sold some time back to Mumbai based person for scrapping. It is 28.4 meter wide and 182.7 meter long.
Large number of people are coming to Dandi coast to see the ship and click selfie with it.
