Journalist Hiren Mehta, poet Harsh Brahmbhatt presented Harindra Dave award

Mumbai: Ram Kathakar Shri Morari Bapu presented Harindra Dave Smruti Paritoshik to Assistant Editor of Chitralekha magazine Shri Hiren Champaklal Mehta and wellknown port Shri Harsh Brahmbhatt in a function held at Santokba hall in Mumbai. The award includes Rs 51,000 cheque and citation.
Hiren Mehta is associated with Chitralekha magazine for last two decades. He has reported stories on various subjects including society, politics, health, science, astronomy, defense and environment. He has gone through defense correspondence course to sharpen the skill of writing defense related reports. He stayed in Jammu and Kashmir in 1998 for days and penned down a series titled as ‘Kaifiyat-e-Kashmir’. He was the only Gujarati journalist on the front line to report Kargil war. He visited Pakistan in 2004 to cater a series of articles.
Mehta teaches journalism in Mumbai based Harkisan Mehta Foundation Institute of Journalism. He has authored two books titled as Ajay Duniya Andaman ni and Arogya Ekavan.
Mehta started his career as reporter in Janmbhoomi group newspapers.
Harsh Brahmbhatt, another awardee this year is maker of ghazal, laghu kavy, achhandas poetry in Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu.
