October 25, 2016
Ahmedabad: At a time of heightened tension between India and Pakistan, the Gujarat Police in Ahmedabad is facing a somewhat bizarre situation as it is on a lookout for two Pakistani women who had disappeared from the house of their Indian husbands two days ago.
The disappeared women are cousins married to two own brothers who live in Shalimar complex in the Paldi area of the city and run a hotel in Kalupur.
Police Inspector of Paldi A G Gohil today said that Asif Mohammed Abdul and his elder brother Mohammed Shoeb were married to cousin sisters Navira and Ayesha. The elder brother married around four and a half years ago while the younger one tied the knot over a year ago.
‘Ayesha with her around 3 years old daughter and Navira with her two months old son had disappeared since October 23. There passports are also missing,’ the PI said adding that the information regarding their disappearance was given by the husbands.
He said that the concerned departments have been informed about it and the crime branch of Ahmedabad police was searching them. The police officer did not rule out the possibility of their fleeing to Pakistan.
He also said that the family was not happy with the behaviour of the two sisters and there was some tension between the two sides.
