Smriti adopts Udvada, Jaitley to adopt Chandod village in Gujarat

Vadodara: After adopting Karnali village first, the Finance Minister and Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat Arun Jaitley is now going to adopt Chandod village to carry out development works. Chandod is located next to Karnali. Both Chandod and Karnali are located in Central Gujarat near Vadodara city. Jaitley had adopted Karnli village in December 2014. Apart from other development works, at present the work for Karnali-Chandod bridge is going on. Recently Jaitley family including Arun Jaitley’s wife Sangita Jaitley had visited Chandod and performed puja at Malharrao Ghat. They had given hint about adoption of Chandod next.

In another development, Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat and union Textile minister Smriti Irani has adopted Udvada village in South Gujarat. Smriti is married to a Parsi gentleman who originally belongs to Udvada. Smriti visited Udvada recently and in a function held at Shrth Pirojshah Palanji High School she dedicated 2200 square ft police outpost constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. She committed Rs 50 lakh grant for renovation of local high school. She suggested 23 projects to district collector Ramya Mohan for overall development of Udvada after holding discussion with Dastorji and other village leaders. The works suggested include complete block paving, streetlights, sewer line, CCTV, drinking water tank, wifi, ambulance, primary health center, fish market, public toilet, beautification of village tank, block paving at coastal bridge, bird feeding towers in tribal areas, two sports ground including one for cricket, crematorium, anganwadi, modernization of primary school and its beautification, training center for fishermen community women, construction of two bus-stands, tree plantation on both sides of road in village, park, police van for police outpost and garden.

Smriti had earlier adopted a village near Anand in Central Gujarat to carry out development works.
