New Delhi:Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today said 10,000 tribal youth have been trained in professional driving at a training centre in Gujarat.
The All Gujarat Institute of Driving, Technical Training and Research (AGIDTTR) at Waghodia, Gujarat was set up as a public-private-partnership between the Ministry of Tribal Development (Gujarat) and MSI in 2009.
“Our objective is to make the students employment ready through driving training and soft skills, and help them get suitable employment,” MSI Executive Director Marketing & Sales R S Kalsi said in a statement.
With support from the state government, the institute has witnessed an increase in enrollment as compared to the numbers seen last year, he added.
“We are optimistic on sustaining the momentum and providing the youth with opportunities through more such establishments,” Kalsi said.
