District headquarters Vyara gets city bus service

Surat: Vyara town in tribal belt of South Gujarat has got city bus service. District headquarters of Tapi district offers free service to senior citizens and handicapped people. The new service will be especially useful for those who come from nearby villages. They at present travel in three-wheeler which is very risky option.
The city bus service was launched by BJP MP Prabhubhai Vasava who represents Bardoli Lok Sabha seat in parliament. City bus will travel on two routes. First route covers Homeopathic college – Kanaz fatak – Indu ITI – Singi Faliyu – Vyara railway station – new bus stand, Sayaji circle, old bus stand – Unai Naka – Panvadi jilla seva sadan. Second route will cover Janak hospital – Ramji Mandir – Kabutarkhana – Bahucharaji mandir – Surti bajar – old bus stand – Sayaji circle – referal hospital – mission naka – Vyara college – Paniyari.
Fare has been fixed at Rs 5 for 0 to 1.5 km, Rs 10 for 1.5 to 3 km, Rs 15 for 3.5 to 5 km and Rs 20 for distance beyond 5 km.
The bus is being operated by city municipality.
