Heads of state and govt, Nobel Laureates, Global CEOs, Academicians to grace Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017

Gandhinagar:The guest list of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 reflects that the eight edition of VGGS will have one of the largest gathering of global leaderswitnessed by the country. Various Heads of Government, Heads of State, Nobel Prize winners and leaders from the corporate world and academia have confirmed their presence for the summit.
With the objective to further strengthen relations with Gujarat and India at large, some of the dignitaries attending the summit include Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya; Mr. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda; Mr. António Costa, Prime Minister of Portugal; Mr. AleksandarVučić, Prime Minister of Serbia; Mr. Dmitry Rogozin, Dy. Addressing the media, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Mines Department, Shri PK Taneja said, “We are privileged to host these leaders from around the world coming to Gujarat for the summit. Their presence will make Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017, one of the grandest events that the country has seen and it will provide ample of opportunities for people from all walks of life to explore.”
The Summit will also bring together leaders from the corporate world to further the cause of development and promote cooperation. Some of the CEOs will also participate in Global CEO Conclave/Roundtable which will be chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi alongside Hon’ble Finance Minister, ShriArunJaitley and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani.

Scientists attending Nobel Prize Exhibition at Science City on 9 January and Nobel Laureate Dialogue at Mahatma Mandir on 10 January include India-born and Gujarat-educated Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, Dr. VenkatramanRamakrishnan;Dr. Ada Yonath, Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry; Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1993, Dr. Richard J Roberts; Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology or Medicine of 1989, Dr. Harold Varmus; 2004 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics,Dr. David J Gross; 2012 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics, Dr. Serge Haroche; 2013 Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology or Medicine, Dr. Randy Schekman, 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry Dr. W E Moerner and Prof. H.c. Hartmut Michel, who received the 1988 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Government of Gujarat also announced earlier that this time there will be 12 partner countries as compared to 8 partner countries during VGGS 2015. Countries to partner VGGS 2017 include Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Japan, The Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, UAE, UK and USA. Further, the event will be supported by 8 partner organizations; Australia India Business Council, Indo-Canada Chambers of Commerce, Japan External Trade Organization, UAE India Business Council, UK India Business Council, US India Business Council, British council and Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Additionally, leaders from various countries will also bring large delegation comprising of senior government officials and representatives from top companies from various sectors.
