PVR launches largest 7 screen multiplex of Ahmedabad at Ranip

Ahmedabad: PVR, the largest film exhibitor company in India, today launched its sixth multiplex in Ahmedabad and 13th in Gujarat situated at the state-of-the-art Ranip GSRTC (ST) Bus terminal building.

With the latest 7-screen, 1404 seat multiplex spread across 50 thousand square feet area on the sixth floor of the Arved Transcube plaza in the bus stand premises, the total number of properties and screens of PVR in the 4 cities of Gujarat (Vardodara, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat) has now reached 13 and 60 respectively, Regional General Manager (operations) of PVR, Monesh Nipane told media persons here on the occasion of the launch.

‘The total number of properties and screens across India has with this addition now reached 123 and 569 respectively in 48 cities spread in 18 states and one union territory, he said adding that the target of the company was of 1000 screens pan-India by 2020.

In Gujarat we started our operation from Vadodara and now we plan to expand to other areas. Our next destination would be Rajkot, where our property will be ready in one and a half years time. Owing to lack of proper infrastructure and our resolve to maintain the same standards everywhere, we are unable to move to smaller cities in Gujarat and other places for now, the RGM said.

To a query he said that PVR has two properties with total 11 (8+3) screens in Surat. Ahemdabad has total 28 screens while 3 properties in Vadodara and one in Gandhinagar has the remaining 21 screens.

He said that the recently launched multiplex is the only one with 4K projection system in Gujarat. Other multiplexes use 2K system. The multiplex has 7.1 digital surround sound and next generation 3D enabled screens with ultra high brightness.

Nipane said that as a limited period introductory offer the tickets are being offered at Rs 150 for morning shows and 200 for the shows post 12pm. Later the tickets will be sold as usual on film to film basis.
