PM to launch works for Rs 92.67 crore Bus Port project in Bharuch

Bharuch: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the works for new iconic bus terminal project of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) at district headquarters Bharuch in Central Gujarat tomorrow. The Prime Minister will lay stone for Rs 92.67 crore Bharuch bus port which is to be developed under Public Private Partnership(PPP) model.
When he was Chief Minister, Shri Modi had opined that bus stations should offer facilities like airport terminals. Putting his vision into action, Shri Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat had initiated several bus port projects including two in Vadodara, two in Ahmedabad and one each at Mahesana and Surat.
The present Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani has taken a decision to modernize 10 more existing bus terminals including Bhuj, Junagadh, Rajkot, Nadiad, Navsari, Modasa, Patan and Palanpur at a cost of Rs 913.90 crore.
To be constructed under design, built, finance, operate and transfer model, new bus ports will have digital display, variable message sign boards, CCTV camera, surveillance system, delux waiting room, tourist information center, clock room, restaurant, food court, plaza, budget hotel, multiplex, administrative office, parcel room, maintenance workshop, fuel station etc facilities.
GSRTC is going to put on roads, 1600 new buses this year at a cost of Rs 410 crore for those living in interior areas, the step which will benefit more than 83,000 people.
