April 21, 2017
By Parth Patel, Gandhinagar: Gujarat Congress prabhari Gurudas Kamat today called on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to hold detailed discussion regarding his upcoming visit to Gujarat on 1st May to address a tribal rally. Kamat also spoke to Rahul regarding political situation in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan and the likely strategy for Congress to be adopted for these states.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address a tribal rally at Dediapada in Narmada district of Central Gujarat.
In the month of April(ongoing) Congress is holding public meetings at five places in eastern tribal area belt of Gujarat in connection with upcoming Gujarat assembly polls likely to be held in December this year.
1st May is foundation day of Gujarat State. In 1960, on this day Gujarat and Maharashtra states were carved of then bilingual Mumbai state.
State Congress had to postpone its Adivasi Adhikar Yatra two-three times after announcing its likely schedule. Finally the idea of holding a yatra was dropped and instead five public meetings in tribal belt were planned.
