RMC wants PM to dedicate Rs 350 crore development works in June

Rajkot: Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC) wishes Prime Minister’s consent to inaugurate series of development projects worth Rs 350 crore that are likely to be ready for inauguration in the month of June.

Rajkot is dependent on Aaji dam for water supply. The state government as per its ambitious plan has connected AAJI to Narmada water network. The connectivity is likely to be achieved by June this year. At the same time the works for Rs 24.92 express feeder line which provides interconnection between dams are also likely to complete by June. Rs 30 crore Morbi road railway crossing over bridge, Rs 43 crore works for gate installation and height increasing works at Nyari dam, Rs 25 crore affordable housing projects in Bharatnagar under Pradhanmantri Aavad Yojana are other projects that shall be ready for inauguration in June.

There are number of projects for which ground breaking can be performed in June. They include Rs 142.44 crore 2656 housing units and shopping center at Bhagvatipara and 80 ft road, Rs 30 crore CCTV camera project for main roads of the city, Rs 15 crore Alfred high school Mahatma Gandhi museum project etc.

The State government has also recently given approval to new airport project at Hirasar near Rajkot.

City Mayor has requested the Chief Minister to invite the Prime Minister to dedicate these works.
