92,000 employees of 33 boards/corporations of Gujarat govt to get benefits of 7th pay commission

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today decided to implement the seventh pay commission in the 33 board and corporations which were self-reliant in matters of their financial needs.
Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Nitin Patel today said that around 92000 employees of these boards/corporations would benefit from the decision.
He said that the respective boards/corporations have been asked to take related formal approvals from the finance department.
Notably the state government had in August last year approved the implementation of the recommendations of 7 th pay commission in the state with the retrospective effect of January 1, 2016 benefiting over eight lakh employees and pensioners of the state government, panchayats and grant in aid institutions.
The decision to implement the recommendations in boards/corporations would put an additional estimated annual financial burden of Rs 377 crores on them.
