Replying to questions asked by media at Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management on the sidelines of SAARC function here Rupani, in his typical gentle yet pinching style, said, ‘ looking at the state of affairs in Congress now people have started joking that ‘Congress Aave Ke Na Aave, Bapu Jaave Chhe’ (It was not clear whether Congress would come or not but Bapu (Vaghela) is going for sure).’

He said that what was happening was a disaster for Congress and the lord must save any party from such a disaster.

Rupani said that he did not want to comment much about the Vaghela episode as it was an internal matter of Congress.

‘It was an internal issue of Congress and I don’t want to say much. However, it is nothing but the internal bickering and factionism in the party which has come to fore now,’ he said.

He had been asked about the mysterious foreign visit of Vaghela amid speculations about his annoyance from the party and possible exit while several party posters erected to welcome newly appointed Gujarat in-charge of the party Ashok Gehlot have also not carried Vaghela’s pictures.
