Gujarat govt condemns ‘attack’ on Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj by Congress workers

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has strongly condemned the ‘attack’ on Gau bhakt Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj today in Ahmedabad.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel in a statement said Congress workers came to Shambhu maharaj’s fast venue and said they were there for his darshan, but later they attacked Shambhu Maharaj which is worth condemning.
“The state government condemns this strongly and legal action will be taken against those who did it,” he said.
“When Shambhu maharaj started his 48-hour fast programme at Sola vidyapith in connection with the incident of cow slaughter by Congress party workers in Kerala, the members of Gujarat Congress came to the venue and initially sought blessings of saints and mahants. They later displayed banners and shouted slogans and also pelted stones. The attack on Gau bhakts is insult of the people of Gujarat by Congress,” Patel said.
He added, “While anger against Congress workers is very high across the nation in light of what happened in Kerala, Congress instead of feeling shame and instead of tendering apology is protecting the butchers of cow which is very sad. Congress always adopts policy of appeasement for votebank which is very well known to people.”
