Rahul Gandhi likely to visit flood-affected areas of North Gujarat on August 4

Ahmedabad: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will be on visit to flood-affected areas of North Gujarat later this week. It is learnt that Rahul Gandhi will be on one-day visit to flood-affected Banaskantha and Patan districts on August 4. Rahul is likely to visit Dhanera, Thara, Radhanpur and Santalpur areas. Earlier party’s senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel had visited flood-affected area along with state party president Bharatsinh Solanki and announced assistance. As many as 224 persons have been dead this monsoon in Gujarat due to heavy rainfall and flood related incidents as per official figure. Among all districts, Banaskantha is worst affected district where 61 are dead followed by Patan where 7 are dead due to heavy rain fall locally and flood water arrived from neighboring Rajasthan, to specific from Mount Abu area.
