Congress loses control over Bayad taluka panchayat, taluka Congress chief joins BJP

Gandhinagar: Congress has lost power in Bayad taluka panchayat in North Gujarat. Bayad was till recent time represented in the assembly by Mahendrasinh Vaghela, son of Shankersinh Vaghela who resigned from the Congress party and also from the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) recently. 10 elected members of Congress party in Bayad taluka panchayat body have joined the BJP. Bayad Taluka Panchayat president Adesinh Chauhan has also joined BJP with this.

-16 out of 24 were Congress members. Of them 10 joined BJP while 6 choose to continue with Congress.
-BJP had 7 members. With induction of 10 Congress members and 2 independents – total 12, BJP has now strength of 19 members.
