Rajkot: President Ram Nath Kovind will be on visit to Gujarat on September 3. This will be his first visit to the State after becoming the President. He had last visited the State just before his nomination as Presidential candidate of NDA. He was Governor of Bihar at that time.

It is learnt that one of the functions of Shri Kovind is organized at Ghela Somnath in Saurashtra region. He will do darshan of Ghela Somnath temple and later move to Ambardi, located five kms away to launch the works of Rs 1700 crore SAUNI project link-4.

SAUNI project is about interlinking the dams of Saurashtra region to Narmada water grid netowrk.The project was conceived by then Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi.

The President will address the gathering in water proof dome at Ghela Somnath.

The function will also be attended by Chief Minister Rupani, Governor OP Kohli and union ministers Rupala and Mandavia.
