Ahmedabad: With Raghavji Patel, scores of Panchayat and district level workers have joined the BJP today. Former Gujarat BJP president RC Faldu whom Raghavjibhai had defeated in the assembly election was looking cordial with Raghavjibhai. Faldu in his speech assured full cooperation to Raghavjibhai.

-Congress is holding tribal farmers’ rally at Nana Pondha in South Gujarat. The rally is being organized to mark 50 years of Indira Gandhi’s public meeting here in which she had allotted land rights to landless tribal. Congress however suffered setback as Uttambhai Patel a senior Congress leader, locally known as Uttam Harji skipped the meeting. Uttam Patel held a separate public meeting at his place. Look at the irony, Congress had given place to Uttam Harji in its banner in Nana Pondha public meeting but he refused to come on the last day. Congress leader Tushar Chaudhary said Uttambhai has changed in last two days. He said, as BJP was not happy with this Congress rally, it went to Uttambhai to ask him that he should not join this rally.

– Buzz is strong that BJP MP from Porbandar in Gujarat Vitthal Radadia could find place in union cabinet. Radadia is Leuva Patidar leader. His son is youngest cabinet minister in Gujarat. Radadia has been reportedly called to Delhi today which has sparked off the buzz regarding his induction in union cabinet.

– It’s another bad day for Hardik Patel. His former aide Ketan Patel, a co-accused in sedition case has now turned approver in this case and got pardon in this case from sessions court. Hardik will continue to face the case. Congress was banking big on Hardik Patel. The party is still in efforts to gain from Hardik Patel’s quota agitation. However Hardik is now not as strong as he was in mid-2015 when quota agitation was on peak. Some of his supporters tried to give bandh call in Patan following his arrest in physical assault and loot case, however such idea had no takers and therefore no bandh call could be given.

– Some time back when the State Congress came out with ‘Congress Aave Chhe’ slogan, couple of leaders in BJP had indicated that it was a copy of Pankaj groundnut oil advertisement ‘Pankaj Aave Chhe’. Couple of days ago Delhi based news agency ANI tweeted that BJP would come with ‘Garje Gujarat’ slogan for Gujarat campaign. Then the other news reports suggested that the slogan would be launched by party president Amit Shah on September 10 in Gandhinagar. It is interesting to note that ‘Garjega Gujarat’ is Gujarat team’s slogan in ongoing Pro-Kabaddi cup. This slogan was launched about a month ago. Pro-Kabaddi team of Gujarat has been purchased by Adani Group’s Fortune oil company, and therefore the team is called Fortune Giants. None in BJP confirms that something like ‘Garje Gujarat’ or ‘Garjega Gujarat’ has been officially conceived as party’s slogan for Gujarat polls. In 2012, the party had released its sloban ‘Ekmat Gujarat, Bane Bhajap Sarkar’ in the month of November, while polling was to take place in December. In 2002 BJP had launched campaign under the slogan of ‘Aapnu Gujarat, Aagvu Gujarat’. That slogan also came up in later phase. In 2007 party’s slogan was ‘Jitega Gujarat’.

– There have been number of political development throughout this year that affected Congress cadre’s morale adversely. Rajya Sabha win was an exception of course. The recent opinion poll on Gujarat elections has been the latest development that has created sad atmosphere among cadres. The opinion poll on higher side gives 59% vote share and over 150 seats to BJP. Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia during the live telecast of opinion poll was constantly smiling. He rubbished and ridiculed the opinion poll which is based on sample survey of less than 5,000 voters.

– There’s buzz that BJP president Amit Shah could do Twitter Town hall or Google Hangout or Facebook live or something more innovative to connect to youths on upcoming September 10 from Gandhinagar. There’s no confirmation from the party as of now but a press conference to announce something related has been organized on September 2 which is to be addressed by State BJP incharge Bhupendra Yadav.
