Amit Shah’s son Jay files defamation suit against Rohini Singh and half a dozen others

Ahmedabad: Son of BJP President Amit Shah today filed a defamation suit against around half a dozen people including the editors of the website that published an allegedly false and defamatory article about him.

The metropolitan court here has fixed October 11 as the date of hearing of the matter.

Shah has made in all reportedly 7 accused in the defamation suit of Rs 100 crore for the article ‘The golden touch of Jay Amit Shah’ which claims that the business of one of his failed company had taken a 16000 fold jump after 2014. Its turnover had gone to Rs 80 crore from a modest 50000.

In the suit which has accused author of the article Rohini Singh, its editors Siddharth Vardarajan, P K Venu and Siddharth Bhatia and others it has been alleged that the article made false, derogatory and defamatory imputations against Jay Shah by creating an impression that his business owes its success to his father’s political position.

Notably, Shah had yesterday in a statement said that he would file the defamation suit. He had said that his business was legitimate and conducted in lawful manner. The loan taken for it was also in accordance with the rules and was against mortgaging of his paternal property.

He file the suit here as he lived here and the company about which the accusations were made in the article also operated here.
