Gujarat govt implements GSUAN for free wifi hotspots in 56 towns

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today said it has implemented ‘Urban Wifi Project’ under which the people of State will get wifi facility through Gujarat State Urban Area Network(GSUAN). Over 3 lakh users will benefit through public wifi hotspot project under this initiative.
According to the Department of Science and Technology, 56 municipalities of class ‘A’ and ‘B’ will be covered in first stage, each of which shall have 7-10 wifi zones including bus-stand, civil hospital, town library and areas where public movement is maximum. Initially, the government intends to cover Patan, Mahesana, Sanand, Modasa, Himmatnagar, Nadiad, Dabhoi, Porbandar, Gondal, Wadhvan and Valsad etc cities.
Installation of access points has been initiated for free unlimited internet at public places.
