Deadlock over Amreli bus port project ends, work for makeshift bus-stand starts
December 31, 2017
Amreli: Ground breaking for reconstruction of State Transport bus station in district headquarters Amreli had taken place six month ago, but work could not start due to unavailability of alternate land to relocate the existing bus station and its traffic temporarily.
Lately Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) has now decided to relocate existing bus-station to vacant space behind its workshop area for two years period during which reconstruction of main bus station will take place nearby.
The makeshift bus station will have 10 platforms, 1 canteen, 4 stalls and drinking water facility. It will be constructed in about one month period. Once alternate arrangement of makeshift bus station is in place and it is operational, the reconstruction work at main bus station will start. It will be converted into state-of-the-art bus port in about two years.
