January 16, 2018
Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu will inaugurate the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology(iCreate) at Deo Dholera near Ahmedabad tomorrow.
Narendra Modi as then chief minister of Gujarat, had laid the foundation stone for iCreate in April 2012. The centre was to promote next-generation entrepreneurship riding on the power of knowledge, innovation and research. Israel was among the first nations to sign an MoU for collaboration with the centre.
Five years later Modi and Netanyahu are going to inaugurate iCreate, the centre that has already over 11 national and international collaborations in diverse fields.
Modi-Netanyahu’s visit on January 17 will also mark the completion of Israel-India Innovation Bridge, a technology platform to facilitate bilateral cooperation between Indian and Israeli start-ups, technology hubs, corporations and key innovation ecosystem players. The event was launched by the two PMs in July 2017 in Tel Aviv.
