February 14, 2018
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said that his government is going to give special focus on farmers and villages. Rupani said the government will bring many schemes in its upcoming budget for farmers and rural areas. He said the government is drafting the budget with aim to make villages prosper. Money will not be an issue, he said. Rupani said the government will call gathering of Sarpanch(elected village head) of all 18,000 villages of Gujarat in future. He said he wants government schemes to reach villages maximum. Rupani said the government wants village secretariat model for functioning of villages.
Rupani said, even the central government has given its budgets with special focus on villages and farmers. He gave examples of budget announcements such as higher Minimum Support Price(MSP) and NaMoCare health insurance scheme.
Rupani said that the attempts of Congress to mislead the rural populace by spreading lies has failed during the recently concluded Gram Panchayat elections in which around 75% of the victorious Sarpanchs were BJP supported.
Addressing the ‘Sarpanch felicitation event’ at Srikamalam, the BJP state head office at Koba near here today, Rupani said that winning the Sarpanch election with quite a few voters of small village was more difficult than winning assembly or Lok Sabha seat. He said Sarpanch election is not an easy task as in such elections only such people win who really do service to the people.
He said that the attempts of Congress to mislead the rural populace by spreading lies has failed during the recently concluded Gram Panchayat elections in which around 75% of the victorious Sarpanchs were BJP supported. BJP which had won sixth consecutive assembly election with the people’s faith in it for 22 years would also win the coming municipal and district panchayat elections for sure.
He said that Congress during its long rule was indulged only in corruption and did nothing for the development of villages and farmers while the Modi government was making policies for the overall development of villages and farmers. Several important announcements for them have been done in the recent budget too. The government was working keeping in mind that if the farmers and villages were happy only then the country would be happy.
On the occasion, DyCM Nitin Patel said that the victory of BJP supported candidates on most of the seats in Gram Panchayat election showed that the rural people have full faith in the development policies of the party. He said that BJP government was resolute for the development of villages because it knew that there could not be overall development unless the fruits of development reach the villages and farmers.
BJP state president Jeetu Vaghani said that by making victorious over 75% of the BJP supported Sarpanchs from among 1442 such posts that had gone to polls, the rural people have again put a seal of approval on the policies of BJP. Congress which has seen sixth consecutive loss in assembly polls has once again been rejected by the people. The party supported candidates have lost many seats in the assembly segments won by it recently. What were the facilities in villages during during Congress rule in Gujarat before 1995. The basic facilities were missing while during BJP the rural areas have seen new heights of development.
