No official permission for Togadia’s proposed fast so far

Even as former VHP leader Pravin Togadia was going to sit on a much-hyped indefinite fast here from tomorrow, no police permission for the same has been obtained for the same so far.
Rajubhai Patel, a close aide of Togadia, who had first gone to seek permission for the earlier thought of venue near Barrisi Jain Samaj Hall in Ranip police station area today said that looking at the possibility of larger participation the venue would be GMDC ground.
He said that the police was reluctant to give permission for the earlier venue as it involved a public road too. He however did not clarify whether permission for use of the GMDC ground situated in the western part of the city under Vastrapur police station area has been sought or not.
However, Vastrapur PI M M Jadeja said that till now (by 9 pm in the evening), no requisition in this regard has reached him.
‘Nobody has approached Vastrapur police for the permission. Even if the request is made at upper level (Commissioner of Police or Collector level), It would come to me first and so far it has not happened and permission has not yet been granted,’ PI Jadeja said.
