Gandhinagar: Senior leader and Rajya Sabha member, Dr. Subramanian Swamy today said the Prime Minister should change the name of the city of Ahmedabad to Karnavati at earliest. Speaking at Youth Parliament of India at Karnavati University here, Dr. Swamy mentioned Ahmedabad as Karnavati and said: The name of Ahmedabad had to be Karnavati. Years ago, then Chief Minister had written to then Central govt that the assembly in Gujarat was of opinion that the name of Ahmeadbad should be changed to Karnavati, but the central government at that time had denied its nod to this proposal. But then Chief Minister of Gujarat is Prime Minister of country at present, so he should do this at earliest.
