Former BJP MLA in Gujarat Lalji Mer resigns from party

Ahmedabad: Former BJP MLA Lalji Mer, who was denied ticket of the party during the last assembly election in 2017, today tendered resignation from the party.
Mer, who had earlier represented Dhandhuka seat of Ahmedabad district, had in his resignation letter alleged that the government was not paying heed to people’s issues.
Mer is from Koli community. He said certain people in BJP had tried for his defeat in year 2009 Lok Sabha election in which he was BJP candidate.
He is likely to announce his next course of action soon.
