Drip and sprinkler no more mandatory to get agri power connection in dark zone areas: Gujarat govt
December 01, 2018
Gandhinagar: Drip and sprinkler will not be mandatory to get agriculture power connection in 57 talukas of Gujarat that are under dark zone.
The government of Gujarat has taken this decision today in view of scarcity situation in the State.
Earlier, due to falling ground water levels, the State had declared 57 talukas as dark zones and made it compulsory for farmers to adopt micro irrigation in order to get agriculture power connection.
However, due to lack of enough rain and scarcity situation, the Chief Minister has decided to suspend this provision until next announcement on the same.
