Three companies sign MoUs with Gujarat govt for Rs. 3,710 crore investment in expansion and new projects

Gandhinagar: Sanghi Industries Ltd, Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd and Mahansaria Tyres Pvt Ltd will start new industrial projects in Gujarat with total investment of Rs. 3,710 crore. Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) for these projects were signed today with the State government in presence of State Chief Minister.

Sanghi Industries is going to increase its Sanghipuram(Kutch) cement plant manufacturing facility’s capacity from 4 million tonnes to 8.6 mt annually for which Rs. 1500 crore expansion is planned. This expansion will create 350 jobs. The project will complete by year 2020. Company’s CMD Ravi Sanghi signed MoU with Govt officer M.K.Das.

Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd(GHCL) is going to set up Rs. 550 crore plant for salt and marin chemicals production in Kutch. The plant will be operational by year 2021. It will create job opportunities for around 1,000 people.

GHCL has also planned expansion of its brownfield soda-ash plant at Sutrapada in Gir-Somnath district. It will be operational by year 2020. It will attract Rs. 600 crore investment and create 2,000 jobs. Company’s MD Ravishankar Jalan signed MoU with the government for these expansion projects

Mahansaria Tyres Pvt Ltd has planned to set up tire tube and rubber products manufacturing project at Panoli in Bharuch district. Rs 1060 crore project will be operational by year 2020 and create 2,000 jobs. Company’s director Ashok Mahansaria signed MoU with the State government for this project.

According to a note issued by the State government, two new projects and two expansion projects worth total Rs. 3,710 crore investment will create more than 5,000 new jobs.
