Gandhinagar: Former Gujarat DIG D G Vanzara who had shown keenness to join active politics, before the assembly election last year, has now said that this has now taken a back seat in his agenda and he would plunge in to political arena only after getting clean-chit in other cases against him.

Even as the Lok-sabha election is inching closer, Vanzara said that now his first priority to get discharged in the remaining cases against him.

He said that he was already in public life and participating in non-political activities.

‘I am in public life already and so far my entry in to politics was concerned it depended on so many factors. I will like to come out of the remaining cases before doing whatever I like to do. Priority was this and the political entry thing was now secondary,’ he added.

He said that it was the people’s expectation that he should enter in to active politics but he would have to think from so many angles before plunging for political thing.
Vanzara said that he was moving around Gujarat for social works.

The former DIG reiterated that he was happy about the the recent acquittal of remaining 22 accused in Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, in which he was also an accused and was discharged earlier on.

He said that he now need discharge in just one Ishrat Jahan encounter case. He would also like to see the conclusion of Sadik Jamal encounter case too even though his name was not directly in it because he also want to see his then junior police officials get justice in it. He also felt his moral responsibility that all the accused police officials in all other such cases of that time also get acquitted and get justice.

Vanzara, who had written 3 poetry books during his jail-term, hinted that he would like to speak up openly (may be in the shape of a book), about the encounters and sufferings of the accused officials who has done their duties rightfully but became victim of political conspiracy.

He said that all the encounters were in the same back-ground and part of same strategy and were carried out to save the them CM Narendra Modi from the nefarious design of Pakistan supported terrorists who wanted to kill him.
