Cyber cell of Ahmdabad police issues notices to 12 e-commerce players including Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Indiamart in connection with sell of Chinese kite-string and Tukkal (sky lantern)

The cyber cell of Ahmedabad Crime Branch has issued notices to 12 e-commerce players including big names like amazon, flipkart, Indiamart and snapdeal in connection with violation of the public notice regarding ban on sell of chinese kite string and tukkal (sky lantern).
A statement issued by the deputy commissioner office today said that it had come to the notice about the sell of such string and tukkal on these e-commerce players. Notices along with the copy of related public notice have been sent to them. They have been asked not to sell it and about the legal action that could be taken on violation.
Notably both the items were banned as per high court order as the sharp chinese strings cause loss of life of both human being as well as birds during Uttarayan season and also as incidents of fire and damage of the property were reported due to tukkals.
The list of e-commerce sites to whom the notices have been issued are-patangdori.com, flipkart.com,shopclues.com,snapdeal.com,indiamart.com,amazon.in,mypartyshoponline.com,crazysutra.com,shopping.rediff.com,skylanterngifts.com, paperlanternsindia.com and firstcry.com.
