Countdown begins for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019: Two Presidents, Four Prime Ministers to grace inaugural function

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 9th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on January 18 in Gandhinagar.
Uzbekistan president Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
Rwandan president Paul Kagame,
Denmark’s prime minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen,
Prime Minister of Czech Republic Andrej Babis and
Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat
will attend the inauguration function. Prime Minister Modi will hold one-on-one meetings with the visiting leaders on the sidelines of the summit later in the day and also host them on a dinner.
Later in the evening, PM Modi will have an hour-long meeting with the head of Sovereign and Wealth Funds who will be coming for the “global investors round table” at the same venue of Mahatma Mandir.
15 countries partnering the summit this year are Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Japan, Morocco, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Netherlands, UAE and Uzbekistan.
11 international organisations participating in the summit include The Australia India business Council, Canada India Federation, Commonwealth Enterprises & Investment Council, Indo-China Chamber of Commerce, International Finance Corporation, Japan External Trade Organization, Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency, The Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce & Trade, UAE – India Business Council, US-India Business Council and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum.
“Prime Minister Modi will arrive on January 17 and inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show (at Helipad Grounds) at 2:30 pm, followed by his visit to Ahmedabad to inaugurate Sardar Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. At around 6 pm, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, he will reach the Sabarmati River Front and make a token purchase at the Amdavad Shopping Festival and thereby formally start the festival.
About 115 delegations from other countries are expected to come for the summit where 20,000 delegates and 26,380 companies have registered for the three-day event between January 18-20. The official said that all the main bridges and flyovers in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are being lighted up for the summit.
African delegation will on the sidelines of the summit visit Zydus hospital, UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology, Amul Dairy plant, IIT Gandhinagar and GIFT City. A separate Africa Pavilion has been set up in 2200 square meter area. 40 of 54 African countries are going to participate in the event
Gujarat CM Rupani is expected to chair the event ‘Gujarat’s Sprint to 2022’ on January 19 at the summit which will showcase the state’s progress by 2022. “Many of the infrastructure projects will get completed by 2022.
Africa Day, mega trade show and buyer seller meet, exhibition on success of Make in India, 20 country seminars and 7 state seminars, an exhibition on future technologies and space exploration, round table conferences on science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects, Youth connect events in four cities of Gujarat are other highlights of the summit this year.
These details were shared by State Chief Secretary Dr. J.N.Singh in a press conference in capital Gandhinagar today.
