All seemingly not well in Gujarat Congress, 11 MLAs absent in crucial meeting in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar:It seems that all is not well with faction-ridden Gujarat Congress despite all-out efforts of the high command to patch-up the said differences among its leaders months before the crucial Loksabha election.

A few weeks ago a meeting of ‘annoyed’ faction of the party leaders at former state president Arjun Modhwadia’s residence in Ahmedabad had given rise to speculations and it was some-how patched up.

Today around a dozen MLA’s of the party remained absent from a crucial meeting of the party in the circuit house here in which Gujarat party in-charge Rajiv Satav, president Amit Chavda and LoP Paresh Dhanani were present. Among those absent wast also Alpesh Thakor, the Radhanpur MLA and national secretary of the party who had not only attended the meeting at Modhwadia’s residence in the past but openly expressed his annoyance with the current style of functioning of the state party leadership. He was not present in yesterday’s crucial extended executive committee meeting of the party in Ahmedabad which was also attended by Ahmed Patel.

Alpesh had said that he was not present in the meeting because of his being busy with his Ekta Yatra in North Gujarat which was non-political in nature and nothing to do with party.
