Operations of Surat – Sharjah flight to be doubled from April

Surat: First international flight from Surat airport to Sharjah in United Arab Emirates(UAE) will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 30th. However formal operation of this service will commence only from February 16.
During 16 February to 30th March, the flight will leave Surat airport twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays. From 1st April it will leave Surat airport four times a week.
During 16 Feb to 3oth March, the flight will leave Sharjah on Mondays and Saturdays at 19.35 hours and arrive at Surat at 23.45 hours. It will leave Surat on Tuesdays and Sundays at 00.30 hours and reach Sharjah at 02.15 hours.
During 1st April to 26 October, the flight will leave Sharjah at 19.35 hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays Fridays and Sundays and reach Surat at 23.45 hours. It will leave Surat on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 00.30 hours and reach Sharjah at 2.15 hours.
180-seat Air India Express aircraft will be used for this service. Central Excise and Custom department has appointed four custom superintendents and four inspectors including one-one woman superintendent and inspector for international operations at Surat airport.
