J&K terror attack: “Decision of Surat family” goes viral on social media
February 15, 2019
Surat: After Kashmir terror attack in Pulwama yesterday, families of bride and groom got together and canceled elaborate wedding. The families decided to donate Rs 11 lakh to families of the martyrs and another Rs 5 lakh to welfare organizations instead of spending huge money on wedding celebrations. Wedding on February 15 will be a low-key affair now.
A card, viral on social media indicates such story. However the families mentioned in the card are not traceble and this could be a thing purely born and being circulated for social media only.
Text in this card:
Our daughter Ami and Mr. Meet’s wedding is scheduled tomorrow on February 15, but due to brutal terror attack in Kashmir in which 42 jawans have martyred, we both families (of bride and groom) have with mutual consent decided to mark wedding ceremony with simplicity tomorrow. Tomorrow’s bhojan samarambh has been cancelled and decision has been taken to donate Rs 5 lakh to voluntary organizations and Rs. 11 lakh jointly to families of martyr.
