Congress announces two more Lok Sabha candidates for Gujarat

New Delhi: Main opposition Congress party today declared the names of two more candidates for Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat.
The party has announced Naresh Maheshwari’s name as candidate for Kutch Lok Sabha seat which is reserved for Schedule Caste. BJP has fielded sitting MP Vinod Chavda on this seat which is considered safe for party.
Naresh Maheshwari is from Madhapar near Bhuj. He has experience of serving Congress party for last two decades. He was Kutch district Congress chief. He has experience to contest at taluka, district, municipality and assembly levels.
Congress has announced the name of Dharmesh Patel as party’s candidate for Navsari Lok Sabha seat. Navsari is located next to Surat, the second largest city of Gujarat. BJP has fielded its powerful sitting MP CR Patil on this seat. Navsari is considered one of safest seats for BJP in Gujarat.
Congress had earlier announced candidates for four Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat namely, Ahmedabad West, Anand, Vadodara and Chhota Udepur.
Gujarat has total 26 Lok Sabha seat. The last date of nomination is April 4. Polling will take place on April 23. In previous general election of year 2014, BJP had won all 26 Lok Sabha seats.
