Congress declares six more Gujarat candidates for Lok Sabha polls 2019

Gandhinagar: Congress party today declared the names of six more Lok Sabha seats.
Former dairy sector bigwig Parthi Bhatol whose son Vasant Bhatol had been BJP MLA has been fielded from North Gujarat’s Banaskantha seat. Bhatol is from Chaudhary community so as rival BJP candidate Parbatbhai Patel.
Congress has fielded MLA Rajendra Thakor on Sabarkantha seat where sitting MP Dipsinh Rathod is BJP candidate.
Leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly Paresh Dhanani has been fielded from Amreli. Dhanani’s name was declared in this list announced in the evening, but he had filed nomination form today afternoon itself.
Bimal Shah, a former BJP minister in Gujarat who joined Congress recently has been fielded as Kheda Lok Sabha candidate. Bimal Shah has contested from Kapadvanj assembly seat unsuccessfully twice. However he on his individual capacity could get over 40,000 votes and didn’t allow BJP candidate to win on that seat. Sitting BJP MP Devusinh Chauhan will be Shah’s main rival candidate.
Congress has also announced Ashok Adhevada’s name as Surat seat candidate. Adhevada will be banking upon Patel votes of Saurashtra community settled in Surat. BJP has fielded a woman candidate Darshna Jardosh again on this seat which is considered its one of safest seats across India.
