Kapadvanj Congress MLA resigns protesting Bimal Shah’s candidature

Gandhinagar: Kapadvanj MLA Kalabhai Dabhi has resigned from primary membership of Congress party protesting party’s decision to field Bimal Shah on Kheda Lok Sabha seat. Kalabhai is likely to file nomination as rebel candidate. Today is the last day of filing nomination forms. Bimal Shah’s name as Congress candidate was declared late in the evening yesterday. Former minister in BJP government in Gujarat, Bimal Shah had contested Kapadvanj assembly seat election unsuccessfully. He had however in his own capacity received more than 40,000 votes. Shah joined Congress recently.
