Surat fire tragedy: Licenses of two architects suspended, one Junior Engineer of SMC also suspended

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation has suspended Hareram Duryodhan Singh, Junior Engineer (civil) of New East Zone (Sarthana) for not responding to complains received regarding Takshashika Arcade building. Singh had not responded to complains pertaining to traffic issues arise due to illegal construction in Takshashila Arcade. Singh had also not transferred the complain to urban development department.
SMC has also suspended incenses of two architects namely Shanta Pansuriya and HM Mangukiya for six months. Both architects were appointed to decide whether approval to Takshashika Apartment’s third floor should be granted or rejected under the Impact Fee law.
In another development, Municipal Commissioner of Surat has appointed Deputy Municipal Commissioner KS Patel as nodal officer to coordinate with police in connection with fire tragedy issue.
In one more development, 8 officials including Varachha Zone chief are transferred by municipal commissioner.
